Day 2: Why The Hell Not
“Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.” TS Eliot
The theme of the day was: why the hell not? That probably makes it sound like I did a lot of cool things but I didn't, it was mostly 7 hours of driving, but I was able to do whatever I wanted without worrying about someone else. You want to listen to Nicki Minaj, sure! You want to pull over 3 times in 20 minutes to take pictures, alright! You want to eat like a child whose parents have gone out of town, okay! I'm trying to break out of my shell and do things I wouldn't normally do (to be fair, I usually eat like that anyway…)
So when the opportunity arises to meet someone you met on a dating app 45 mins prior, why the hell not? I went to sundial bridge in Redding at 1am and it was really cool. It was lit up in a purple glow and the person I met up with told me that the giant sundial that adorns the bridge only accurately tells time once a year. Apparently flying spiderwebs are a thing because they kept flying in our faces and I felt like a mime waving my arms all around. I didn't get murdered and I met an interesting person, so it was a win/win! All I could think of is how almost literally everyone I know has told me to be safe and this was probably one of the most unsafe things I could do. But you know what's safe? Not doing this at all, not taking any risks, and staying stagnant in my life. Risks are a part of life and without taking them, it's not much of a life to lead.
Enjoy the ride:)
